Since the providers are providing us with new 3DS information, we've integrated it and modified the authentication status values to make them clearer and more understandable.
Here are the statuses you can find on your transactions in Console and their explanations:
- no authentication (NO_): the authentication process was bypassed because the indicator was set to 0. This is only possible when the card's 3DS version is 3DSv1.
- abandoned strong authentication (ABA): the authentication was requested, but the customer has abandoned his/her transaction payment.
- unsuccessful authentication attempted (ATT): the authentication has failed due to technical issues.
- challenge authentication (CHA): the transaction required strong customer authentication, using at least 2 factors, and was a success.
- frictionless authentication (FRI): the authentication was successful, without strong customer authentication.
- successful authentication (SUC): the authentication was successful, but the provider can't tell us if it was frictionless or challenge.
- failed authentication (FAI): the customer has failed to authenticate himself/herself.
- unknown authentication (UNK): it concerns all other cases when we can't know if the authentication was possible or not.
