This article will help you properly export amounts from HiPay Console and use them in Excel.
To easily work in Excel with amounts exported from HiPay Console, here are some tips.
In HiPay Console, set all the amount columns to “No formatting”. If French or Italian is your preferred language in HiPay Console, you have two options to configure Excel to handle files correctly: apply the right settings in Excel once and for all, or use a simple function in Excel every time you open an export. |
In HiPay Console, set all the amount columns to “No formatting”.
In the Transaction and Financial report modules of HiPay Console, several columns display amounts (Authorization amount, Capture amount, etc.). Once you’ve added the desired columns to your search results, make sure to set them all to “No formatting”.
Do this for all the amount columns and click on the “Save changes” icon, next to the “Changed columns” filter chip in the top left-hand corner of your screen.
Otherwise, you must do it again every time you come back to the Transaction or Financial report modules.
“No formatting” means that amounts are now displayed without the currency symbol, without thousands separator and with a period (.) as decimal separator.
Please note: This setting removes all formatting on amounts. Therefore, the formatting associated with your preferred language (chosen in your Settings) does not apply anymore.
If French or Italian is your preferred language in HiPay Console, configure Excel to handle files correctly.
In French and in Italian, numbers have a comma (,) as decimal separator.
Therefore, two options are possible.
1. Apply the right settings in Excel once and for all.
In Excel, you need to specify that you will use a period (.) as decimal separator for all your files. To this end, go to Options, then to Advanced: untick “Use system separators” and put a period (.) as decimal separator and nothing (or a space) as thousands separator. You only have to do it once: it will work every time you open a HiPay export in Excel.
2. Or use a simple function in Excel every time you open an export.
If you prefer to keep the default Excel settings for the decimal separator, you will need to select all the amount columns and use the “Find and Replace” function to replace periods (.) by commas (,) every time you open a HiPay export in Excel.
The keyboard shortcut for “Find and Replace” is Ctrl + F on Windows or Command + F on Mac.
In Excel, this will enable you to correctly use numbers, formulas, etc.
